Was there a chanage in gearing between Amigos that came with stock 31's? Were 31s even available with the 2.3L engines?

anyone?

I guess what I'm getting at is that I'm wondering if my 2.3 Amigo is going to have problems turning 31s. I know 31s came stock at one time. I'm just not sure if they were avaiable with the 2.3 or if they were only available with the 2.6 or with the 2.3 with different gearing or.... you get the idea

Still bloodied from last weeks discussion regarding Isuzu options, I will go back out on my limb and say that the 2.3's never got 31's. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Your gearing is most likely in the 4.555 range anyway, as the tire choice on the first gen Amigos did not have an effect on gearing, like the Troopers.

I got your back Michael. This is info from my 1990 Amigo/Pup Service Manual:

Gera Ratios:

2.3 - 4ZD1 engine : 4.666 (7.64" ring gear - drum brakes rear)

2.6 - 4ZE1 engine : 4.3 or 4.555 (8.66" ring gear - disc brakes rear)
