I don't know about the MAF and all, but you should try to clean up the intake path antway.

Also, my '95 was doggy, and would produce a check light if I accelerated hard. So, I tried some fuel injector cleaner and top-end cleaner (sucked in through a vacuum port in the intake manifold). It helped, but didn't totally remedty the sicuation.

Then I just tried running several tanks of premium (Chevron and Shell) and I swear it runs better now. No check engine light since. So now I run premium every other tank or so.
