My truck has a nice, annoying squeak on the right side. I traced it to one of the lower control arm bushings.Looks like I'm about due for a full front end re-do in the future.

Get someone to bounce the truck up and down for you while you try and find out for sure where it's squeaking from if the greasing doesn't solve it.

Just a lame attempt at humor, Bob - no flame intended.

Actually it sounds like a good idea for someone who doesn't want to spend the money on repairs - or is in a hurry - if you could find the things in less time than it would take to replace the joint. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the info on Jiffy. Well my water pump went out so I need to take care of that first thing. Looks like a new belt and tensioner... and I may as well do the valve cover gasket while I am at it. When it rains it pours.

I've had that lower control arm bushing squeak for years on my white truck. It took a while to locate exactly where it was coming from, but once I believed the guy who showed me, I was able to hit it with WD-40 and quiet it down.

One day I may actually fix it.

Bouncing the truck up and down with an assistant always worked well for me.....AS LONG AS IT`S not jacked up !!!
