I used to own an old '84. I had 3 lugs stripped while a shop was putting on some new tires I had just bought.

When I got back to the shop ( I had gone to get something to eat) They told me that their tech had stripped some of the lugs, and that they were sorry but they couldn't repair them cause (as he points to a sign) they don't work on aluminium tire parts...it's policy.

I was a bit peeved, and said, did your tech read the sign before he ratched the nuts down without a torque wrench??

They went to a local parts store and replaced the lugs and waited as I watched them torque them down this time.
