Hi, There is a factory re call in force in this country (NZ) for all vehicles fitted with this motor that have been imported from Japan.

The problem are the seals around the injector sleeves leaking fuel into the sump. This in turn raises the oil level in the sump and makes the oil vapour more flammable.
When the oil level gets high enough, the increased vapour getting sucked into the turbo intake can cause the engine to rev out of control to destruction.

This has happened apparently hence the recall. This only affects engines in a certain number range so check with your isuzu dealer if you think this may concern you.

The 4JX1 is the 3 ltr, turbo, twin overhead cam, common rail engine.

Symptoms to look out for, Hard starting and a raised oil level in the sump.
