These are the best images I can offer with my aging digital.

All four plugs have electrodes rounded over on one side only. Although the plugs are mostly a nice tan color the insulator is lighter in color where electrode is rounded over. There is also a VERY slight glazing on the rounded over electrodes. It's as though 1/2 of each plug is perfect in color and condition and the other 1/2 has been over heated?????

1) Plugs have 10k miles on rebuilt motor.
2) I've checked timing again and again.
3) I have run on 87 fuel with no indication of pinging.
4) With my MPG I don't see how she could be lean!
5) EGR was prolly NOT working until very recently (Thanks, Darin the bvsp valve is working great).
6) NGK BPR5EY
7) Cooling and lubricating systems give every indication t/b in excellent working order.

Comments/observations, please.

Agreed! other than being a little worn they look fine. Are you trying to diagnose a problem or just checking?

I was thinking it might be unusual electrodes were wearing on one side only and the slight glazing gave me concern engine might be running hot/lean.

The way the plug sits in the head of the 22r causes the exhaust valve to be on one side and the intake valve on the other. Combine this with a peanut shaped combustion chamber and you will get hot spots. Basically unless you are placing the plug in the center of a perfectly round combustion chamber you will always see a little bit of uneven wear. perfectly normal...all is kosher.

My NGKs on 10k motor also wore on one side of the electrodes.

Your plugs look much better than mine after the same mileage:

Thanks, guys... it's good to know I've been driving in 'happy town'... I really do get alot of enjoyment from this rig!

Although I've been looking in from time to time I haven't been around much of late due to new project. I picked up a basket case '72 Honda CB500 I'm planning to carry on back of rig. After the 22re rebuild experience I had no qualms about diving into and cafeing the little Honda. The bike and Toyota should make for a fun combination.

On the kitchen table, of course!

That seems to be a little more erosion than I would expect but I'm used to the LT1 350 in my 93 Z28 and that engine uses a .050 gap. Does the smaller Toyota gap of .032 burn up the plugs that much faster? The rest of the plug looks awesome. I just pulled a plug out last weekend and the previous owner had put in platinum plugs with a huge gap(bigger than .050) and it still looked great. I'm not a fan of platinum plugs either.
