downey and wolverine made 4x4 conversions on toyota pickups! they did for quite a few years, i don't think it was a test market really as they're spread around quite well
I am only going by wht a Toyota Exec told me. I was at the dealership getting parts and when I came out there was a couple of suits eyeballing my truck. We got to talking and they were from Toyota America and that is what the told me.!!!! opps is right ... They were "tests" ... trekker is the most popular of the bunch , and Toyota didnt think the "suv" market was viable , so instead of building them themselves , they subed them out , so to speak . That is fact . I had "official" insider info . anyway ... I'd buy it in a heartbeat . infact ... if you dont , please let me know

*Called the fella at the number listed and got no answer. No machine to talk to either... But I have to admit, it is a beautiful day here. Sun is out and the air is actually warm. I'll try again later.
More local to me is an 86' 4x4 pickup that comes with an 85' parts truck. $600 but no details regarding condition etc.
Was thinking of picking up an 85' Celica GT with blown head gasket and front corner sheet metal damage. $200
Just down the road is a complete 87' 22R-E. $100
Plenty of projects to be had....now only if people would get home and answer their phones!!
