NCBBA you keep insisting that there is more power in different gasolineÆs. Octane only helps resist predetination under pressure and temperature, that is why you can't run 87 in your 11.5:1 Camaro. Putting 92 in it doesn't raise the power; it just allows it to run without detonating. Putting 87 in an 8.8:1 motor doesn't fetch anymore power. If you have so much carbon built up that you are running too much compression, the knock sensor will detect it pinging pull the timing back, and you lose some power. Perhaps the reason yours runs so much better on higher test gas is because of carbon build up or an over active knock sensor? For all the rest of us 8.8:1 4.0Æs there is no difference in power with 87 cheapo gas, and 104 racing gas.
