i figure my gas mileage on the way i use my jeep which is a combo of around town and highway and i average 18 mpg in a 90 yj islander with carbed 258. a buddy at work has 89 w/2.5 says he's lucky to get 11. i do maintain mine better which is part of the reason i keep a close eye on fuel mileage.87 octane is all i ever use never noticed enough difference to make me switch
