so you disassembled the detriot huh? humm... interesting. Those detriots ship fully assembled. They have a long bolt and washer going through the unit to hold it together since its spring loaded. You're supposed to mount it in the carrier, bolt the two carrier halves together, and then remove the bolt to release the tension inside the carrier. Detriot recommends you keep this bolt should you ever have to split the carrier again, where you're supposed to reinstalled it and keep the locker together as a whole unit.

Oh no!! How is it spring loaded? The springs are on the out side of the locker. Now unless it is a rond spring? Not sure. I will have to take another look at that tonight. All I did was take the to half of the carrier apart and it was just sitting there. Well the top of the carrier popped up from the pressure of the spring that goes on top and bottom of the detriot. I sure hope I didn't muck this one up.

I tried to take the pinion out of the dana 60 last night but I didn't have anything to hold the yoke with. I guess I could use a pipe wrinch? Not sure but I will take one home with me today from work and try it. The 14 bolt sure sounds alot easier all the way around. Man I wish there was a front 14 bolt now that would be nasty.

Later,
Daniel
