No, i was saying the stock Isuzu box (not pump) doesn't have the best characteristcs for hydro assist conversion. When tapping/porting it, you can't get enough flow without some squirrly characteristics.
I used the stock isuzu box for some time with my 36's before going hydro assist. If i was planning hydro assist again, i'd forget the stock box and retrofit another box with better characteristics for hydro.

So does that box in the picture look like it would handle it? You think I should even mess with that one or just look for another one? PS: still working on that pinion on the 14 bolt. Man that thing is tight. I am going to put some heat on it and try it again.

I'm not sure. Don't think you can tell from the outside or without an extensive knowledge of PS boxes. I tell ya, the man to talk to is Matt @ westtexasoffroad.com (he goes by Lakerat on PBB). He's the one that tapped my Isuzu box.

Thanks I emailed him and gave him the numbers on the side of the box. Hopefully he can run the numbers and tell me more about that box.
Now back to work. I have to get the pinion out of the dana 60 now and load it all up on the trailer. I got the pinion out of the 14 bolt. Man you got to love tourches, just put alittle heat on it and it comes right off. I have to be at the guys place at 8:30 in the morning for sandblasting.
Thanks. Daniel

well after a long day saturday I got the chassie and the axles sandbalsted and primed. I can tell you now that I respect them guys that do this everyday. I am so glad that I did this on a cool winter day. I would not even want to think about doing this on a hot summer day. Anways here it is. As you can see I have to finish welding on the front hanger. I hope to have most of that done this week. Also going to start to rebuild my dana 300 t- case when the kit comes in wensday. Later, Daniel

how did you get the body off? and how heavy was it with all the doors and glass etc. removed?something a couple people can pickup off the frame? I use two come a longs and my engine host. I put the one come a long on each side by the rear tires and slide a bar through the gap between my body and the chassie. I put the engine host at the front of the body and strap right in the center of the front of the trooper. I then slowly start to lift one at a time. It is nice to have at least two people at this point but I did it this time by myself. I leave everything in place on the trooper. The only thing I take off is the hood so I can get the host in there and not worry about messing it up. Can it be done with a few people? I am sure it can but have not try it. Just doesn't seem to be anyone around we I get ready to lift it. I think it would atleast take four good people to lift it. I am not sure if you can get it over the motor that way though. Later, Daniel

Okay guys I am going to try and get the body mounted for good in a few weeks and I need to decide if I am going to have body lift or not. I would like to get away without one however it would make it easier to have some added room around the motor and trany. I am thinking about going with a 1.2 to 2 inch. if any.
SO WHAT SAY YAH?

Jeeze, just go for it!! Go the whole 3". Again, like so many people before who have deliberated on whether to go 1", 2" or 3". I did this also. But, when I put the 3" lift on, I was glad that I went that high on my 1st gen Trooper. It'll work great with your future rock sliders, and while you have everything apart as you do, get that tank lifted 3" too. You're at a perfect place.
