Well after a long weekend of watching some of the most talented people work their off I am happy to say that both of my axles are mounted. Jessica and Rob came down this weekend to give me a hand (which really means me staying out of their way) Mounting both the front and the rear axles. Rob took the axles back with him for gearing. I have yet to gone out there and take any pictures but I am one tickled white boy. .
Saturday I rode over to meet Jessica and Rob at the hotel and let them follow me back to the shop. Once we got there they took a quick look around and got to work. They started with the rear axle. After they desinged my rear buckets we gave them to my friend Ray and he cut them out and welded them up. They then went to work mounting the rear axle in place.
Matt came down and brought a nice lttile list of stuff that we needed to make this trooper work. Here is a list of what he brought done for me.
- 14 bolt 5.13 gear set
- dana 60 5.13 gear set
- 14 bolt master install set
- dana 60 master install set
- 4 new steel wheels
- four 39.50 x15 x16.5 tsl tires
- Oh yeah the most bling bling part of all the dana 60 ARB locker
Matt and Rob talked about what they thought would be the best way to do the front. They both came to the conclusion that it would be better to cut most of what I had up there off and start over. Needless to say that sucked. However i did give me something to do for a few hours.
Jessica and Rob finished the rear axle and I still wasn't done grindding all the stuff out of the way on the front. It was already getting to be late around 7 pm I think. So we desided to go get cleaned up and grab a bite to eat.
Sunday they came over around 8 and we got started on the front. I really enjoyed sunday because I could actualy get down there and help/learn something. Same thing with the front. They desinged the front buckets and Ray cut and welded them. The front seem to go alot faster for some reason. After they got everything takced up we unbolted the axles and loaded them into Rob's truck. The headed home around 5 pm on suday.
I can not thank Jessica and Rob enough for all that they did for me this weekend. I will try and get some pictures up here soon. Jessica if want to please post some of the pictures that you have.
Thanks again,
Daniel
