I always pack my pump housings with vaseline. I make the wife go buy it of course....not that there is anything wrong with a man buying it...but ya know what I mean??

Its compatible with engine oil and mixes right in. Havent had an oil related failure yet since doing this. EB's the one that told me to, and it works great. Instant oil pressure! Also when initially loading the oil, I leave the valve cover off and pour directly over the camshaft to ensure there is plenty of oil topside for the cam lobes etc.
