ON THE SUBJECT OF THE MANUAL HUBS V THE AUTO HUBS, THE REASON ISUZU DID NOT OFFER AUTO HUBS ON THE 2.6 ENG WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANS , IS THE TRANSFER CASE , THIS TRANSFER CASE IS A HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED TRANS FER ASSY AND WHE YOU MOVE THE LEVER FROM 2WD TO EITHER LOR H RANGE IT IS AN IMMEDIATE TRANSFER TO THE FRONT WHEELS NO MATTER WHAT THE SPEED AND YOU WILL TEAR UP THE AUTO HUBS UNLESS YOU ARE AT A COMPLETE STOP AND VERY CAREFULL ENGAGE AND DISENGAGE THE 4WD , YOU WOULD BE MUCH BETTER OF JUST LOCKING THE MANUAL HUBS WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO OR ANTICIPATE NEEDING 4WD AND JUST LEAVING THEM LOCKED , THIS TRANS FERCASE DOES NOT WORK LIKE ANY OF THE OTHER ISUZU CASES, ONE PLUS ADVANTAGE WITH THIS CASE AND TRANNY IF YOU NEED EXTREM PULLING PWR JUST PUT THE TRANSFER IN LOW RANGE IN 2WD DRIVE WITH THE FRONT HUBS UNLOCKED NOW ALL TORQUE IS TRANSMITTED TO THE REAR AXLE BUT BE CAREFULL YOU CAN BREAK AN AXLE LIKE THIS BELIEVE IT .
