Well I've got a boat, Harley, some gates and a Ranger in there but I guess if I just had too I could make room. You would have to bring your own labor. Of course I have hoist and some of this and some of that too.

The site I listed is not a "write up" on the swap, it is an entire forum (just like jeep tech on this site) for swapping in the 4.0L engine into Jeeps. There are a bunch of YJ guys on the site that have done the swap and have posted enough information that you could do the it without ever posting a question.

As far as $$$. A properly built stroker is gonna cost in the thousands when it's all said and done.

If you're worried about power don't be. I heard all of those 258 (I too used to be one, even went with a 4.0 head on the 258 with a Weber Carb before the 4.0L) guys telling me how much I'll miss my low end torque; paaaleese. I can be sitting at a stop light, in the dry humid 80* weather (dry pavement), flip on my rear ARB locker, and power brake both rear 33" tires until the rubber runs out. The 4.0L provides plenty of power for most (un)modified rigs out there.

Um? I didn't build my jeep to turn tires on the street either, it was an example of the power out-put the 4.0L has in stock form. It was a funny comment though. You don't "need" to go offroad in a Jeep either, so why do it? Personally, I love being laughed at by a riced out Civic reving their 4 banger, then I let 'em have a nice coat of white stinkin' smoke from my tires.

If you can't stand a bigger engine, then that condradicts what you were saying about building a stroker motor, or even putting in the 4.0L at all.

My point is that you'll have more than just reliability, you'll have a lot more horses as well. Along with the reliability comes some extra ponies; you're gonna tell me you could care less about that? If so, my suggestion would be to look at some Throttle Body injection kits, instead of the MPI option, and keep your 258 as-is.
