Hey all, been away for a while...
Wednesday was driving along and the radio drops out and then immediately powers back up. Thought it was my radio wiring, figured I would get in there someday and solder the connections.
Today my GF goes out to start it, and there's no juice, no clock, no sign of electricity. Went out and just pumped the clutch for starters and it fired right up. Clock was reset, but it started normally. Might have rocked the truck while pumping the clutch enough to reconnect a short, or maybe something else.
I would first have guessed my clutch defeat button was going, but the clock wouldn't have reset. I'm going to visually trace everything I can this afternoon, but can anybody think of something obvious that I can try before paying for an electrical diagnosis? I have learned my lesson from previous issues with my 86, and I am planning on it eventually dying totally, so am going to handle this now.
