ok, long story, short question...

started rodeo to warm up before leaving work. come out to find no fan working--fuse blown. replaced same and blew two more. took out blower next day in warm (clue?) garage and got blower to spin but resistor is bad on speed #3 setting (fan switch) haynes says there should be juice at the blower with key in "on" position and engine not running. if no juice, then there's an ignition feed circuit problem. next day when car was cold (-6 degrees) the fan wouldn't turn again. well, i tore the fan motor apart, cleaned it up, wd-40'd it and it runs great (resistor courtesy st chas on the way) but still no fan with just key on and engine off. what is the ignition feed circuit, how do i fix it or is haynes wrong? should i be able to run fan with just the key on, no engine running? i would think so... rodeo owners, can you run out and see if the fan runs with the key just "on" not running engine? i don't even know where to look. electricity is like dark magic to me. i keep swearing i'm going to take a course in automotive electronics <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" /> TIA
