Not going into the small details quite yet but basically Toyota of Hattiesburg is calling me a liar. Guy wants to know who fixed my truck. He can't believe that I out did his MASTER Tech with a set of Craftsman ratchets in my driveway.

Stay tuned it should get good.

I'm telling you, go into business. Find out what his "Master Tech" get's paid, ask to double it and a new toyota every year.

Don't forget to add you did it outside, in the cold and with no lift (not that you need one, but I am sure the "Master Tech" would have used it).

I said to the service manager "I find it hard to believe that a guy with simple Craftsman tools and a gravel driveway for a shop can out do a Toyota master tech with a 8 bay dealership shop".......he said "I understand, it kinda makes me look bad".......I said "KINDA?"

I want to know more about this. How long did they refuse to believe you dealt with it - or are they still refusing to believe it?

still don't believe me......last call from them was at 4:00 pm asking how I diagnosed the tb problem. I started telling the guy about all the parts and what not and he said....."I'll get back with when I find out from Toyota America how we could have missed the problem"......I told him "easy, yall are trying to defraud people". It's way to documented for them to win. To many folks saw me working on that truck and way to many folks know I'm mechanically inclined to do such repairs.

Toyota of Hattiesburg runs a scam shop. I hate it for all those folks that have been taken by them.

Ahh, the smoking gun. You REALLY didn't do it yourself, the call to Surlynkid obviously gave you access to a set of Master Master Techs that exist only in the hills outside of Yokohama Japan. With that phone call you had an entire motor rebuilt in a mater of hours. Probably dyno's higher to boot.

This is one of those times the dealer should just say their sorry and give the towing and labor money back and a coupon good for parts. Their prolonging their stupidity.

Waiting for next update on edge of seat!!!!

I did ask the guy what he thought was done to fix it and he implied that I got someone to redo the heads over the weekend.

If he wants to see the engine I'll gladly show him and tell him "you got me, I had the heads rebuilt over the weekend and all that oil and grime on the plentum and covers, well you can get that in a spray can kinda like spray paint....really makes the engine look untouched" <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> We will see tomorrow.
