I use a catspaw to get mine off. They are on there good...but get something that will catch the underside lip and is long enough to extend over the side of the casting a quick pop with your hand will lift them free. Not in one piece (rare) so be meticulous on your cleaning and prep before tapping on the new seals. For install I use a 7/16 deep well socket...matches the outer diameter poyfectly.
