The 4 bolt patttern on the rear crossmember is the same as the 4 bolt pattern on pintle hitches, so if you always use a 2 inch hitch ball, some thing like this would work.

One other hitch option is on older Mitsubishi Montero's, which had something that looked like it would work well. So do H1 Hummers <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Other wise go to your local hitch store. On my old '90 Amigo, I got the hitch for $50, installation was about $10. Seemed worth it, so I could let them fight any rusty threaded bolts/holes. The hitch was a non receiver mount style, that was quite robust. 1/4 inch plate with 2 diagonal braces.

I've also seen receiver style hitches that bolt to that bolt pattern.

Nothing you should be towing with a 1st gen Amigo would require a big frame mount receiver style hitch. The crossmember mount style doesn't rattle like the receiver type, and will handle 2000 lb of trailer just fine.
