Body Damage is Cool
I've finally figured how to post pics. This is the trooper diesel I had on ebay that I almost got scamed. I am planning to repost it on ebay this week sometime. I hope it finds a good home. I was going to fix it upsimilar to my 1990 montero, but I can't drive it on the highway cause I would kill it. Other than the top speed issue it runs fine. I do know one thing though I am definatly getting another diesel probably a power stroke. After driving this and hardly ever putting fuel in There is NO other way to go. Just wish there was an easy way to go faster. Anyways here is the pic of it and my monty just for good measure. Here is monty? [Linked Image] hope this works. here is trooper- [Linked Image]

I remember when you had the Trooper diesel on Ebay the first time. At first I didn't know it was yours and thought it was another rare find. It is one of the best Trooper diesels I have even seen though. Hope you sell it for what you want and get a good bidder the second time around. Oh and the Montero is very nice looking too. I really like the old Troopers and Monteros because of the square body styles and 4x4 reliability.

I'm trying to improve the looks of my 86 turboD by removing the colored tape or paint stripes that run the lenghth of the side about where the side moulding is on your red outfit. Did your side moulding come with your rig or did you buy it aftermarket?

I'd guess it was aftermarket. This truck was repainted at one time the only decal origonal is the turbo d on back door.

I have been thinking about the same as the logo/stripes and such are "cracked" but paint is great - what process are you using to remove?

use WD 40 to wet the adhesive. the start the tape and slowly pull it back in such a way as to flod it back very close the body. This as opposed to pulling it away perpendicular from the body seems to work better. Essentially you make a hairpin turn back over the exoisting tape to peel it back. (Hope you can visulaize this from my description)

I have not removed my racing stripes yet. I went to a Carquest body supply shop and they had several spray cans of decal remover - I got the 3M brand - much nastier than WD40 I'm sure - it calls for masking off the area to be treated, wearing hand protection and lots of fresh air. When it warms up...... I also obtained a couple of Mercedes "TURBO DIESEL" emblems which will install where the Isuzu Trooper decals are high on the rear quarter panels
