Also the obvious...your front diff is going to be on the opposite side, so think about your t-case issues if you're going to swap in your motor/trans....but I guess you could do a flip kit on your D300, keep that in mind.

You didn't look at the pictures Damon. The front diff is a passenger drop just like a CJ.

As was mentioned earlier, the one in the pictures is a Dana 30 anyhow.

That looks like a CJ tub with a YJ front clip.(Check out the dash), still cool though. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" /> Actually, those are prolly CJ axles, sprung over with rearched springs.

It's a YJ. You can tell from the tailgate hinges on the side, the frame rails slightly further out than the inner, rear wheelwell, the tubular crossmember at the front, and the front shockmounts for starters. If you look hard you can see where the YJ fuel filler was also.

Anybody can swap a CJ dash into a YJ tub quite easily.

Thanks for all your advice, I talked the kid down a bit to 500. So I'm going to pick it up tommorow. The tub I will probably just try to sell it or trash it. I am going to try and find a set of YJ springs, mabye hang on to the other ones untill I am ready for such a huge lift. So my plan is to get the chassis, install new brake lines and fuel lines, and install my CJ tub. Probably going to need new drivelines, and a YJ gas tank. Unless the CJ tank will fit. If I'm lucky both axles will have the same gear ratio and I probably wont mess with it considering my tranny. I know its going to be allot of work and Just one step closer to saying I should have just cut my losses on the old CJ but hey....its a hobby and I love it.

So as I was contimplating everything I would probably have to do...it came to me. Why not just fix the rear fender wells and slap a CJ clip on it. My tub is roached and so is my frame. I can live with a bad body. But a rotted out frame is not good so my frame is going in the trash heep. I wouldn't think it would be to terribly expensive to have a body shop fix the two fenderwells in the back...but mabye. A buddy of mine has a wire feed welder so I could probably do it myself...what am I saying Ive been watching stacee on trucks to much. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" /> anyhow it could be done right? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> thought so.
