double check your spark plug wires.... and make sure your thermostat isnt in backwards. Its always the easy things that get over-looked. Running a tap down your head bolt holes will insure proper torque.

The way I burp my 22re is:
park with front slightly higher than rear
top off rad with coolant
set heater control to hot
run with cap loose for awhile(may vary}
Keep an eye on the Temp gauge!!
the coolant may spillover once the thermostat opens
top off rad with coolant
allow thermostat to cycle a couple times
you can tell by looking at the coolant flow(cap off)
top radiator off and cap tight
fill over flow jug to "Hot" line
drive around the block
allow to cool then check coolant level.
