Well... in Atlanta, although I'm def. pissed at people constantly for driving like morons, I never get out of my car: that's an excellent way to get shot, 'cause we're the road-rage capital of the US... 99% of the time, just following them will scare them off enough, and realistically, my Trooper's big and tall enough (the bullbar helps) so generally folks aren't that tough... IMHO, I don't recommend this -just let it go, and especially if you're going unprotected, its not worth the risk. That being said, I have a g26 in my glovebox - gotta love Georgia law a nice tire shop owned by some really nice Meksakinz I just befriended. Hey All, JasonB I am glad you only got away with a warning!!! And your safe. I live here in Silicon Valley and have to commute the 101 / Silicon Drag Strip. Fortunate for me I am married to a Probation Officer who loves my "ISUZU TROOPER" Well like you all I am 6'4 and big solid Indian at 250lbs from Montana. And my "ISUZU TROOPER" fits me comfy like a glove. And alot of people out here have for no reason at all but for show drive Lifted to the sky trucks. Well one guy extremely over compensating almost Tbones my "ISUZU TROOPER" and makes me us my very safe and always reliable "ABS BRAKES". He hops out of truck ok (it was more like he shimmied down the door, hung from the side and dropped). And I don't see him till he peeks around his tire and is coming to my "ISUZU TROOPER" Like a maniac. I quickly scanned his hands and his belt for anything harmful. Not finding anything, I open the door to my "ISUZU TROOPER" calmly stand up and slowly take one step to see if he was ok. Well if you ever seen a cat run up a tree after it seen a dog you understand what I saw. The guy went from to and said "SORRY!!!! Hope your ok I was just coming to check on you!!! and left. Mind you he said that while he was driving away. I got back in my "ISUZU TROOPER" and got an earful from the MRS. remember she is a Probation Officer. And since then I learned my lesson to Stay in the car.

Jason, it's not that I want detract from the frightfully serious nature of your experiences today, but... (and Ascender, you're like the 28-year-old, livin' at home step-child we have to like to keep peace with mama) MAN, THAT'S FUNNY! You're not alone! While on an out-of-town trip, Miss Kathy and I once had our pulse rates kicked into overdrive by a Honda Accord containing three collage co-eds, when the driver went all vacuous and started to majorly crowd our lane (while both vehicles were on a curved radius 4-lane highway bridge). --- I dove as far over as I could toward the railing and sounded my horn in protestà The driver quickly rejoined the physical plane and went back on her side of the line. --- I hammered-down and put some distance between us and them, and we really didnÆt give it another thoughtà A few miles farther down the road, Kathy and I were back to discussing the subject we were on before the incidentà When out-of-nowhere, that Honda blazed-up from behind û with all three girls flying one-finger salutes û they deliberately careened into our lane, and quite literally forced us completely off the road. Not long after, I was right on the tail-end of that Honda; but only long enough to get their license plate numberà After which, we followed them at a much safer distance for several miles, keeping a watchful eye on them, before finally reaching a public telephone. I called the State Police to report the incident in great detail, and provided them with a number where I could be reached for the weekend. Several hours later, I received a call from the investigating officer. --- He told me that he had contacted the owner of the car, and that the time and place that I had reported did in fact match with where the ownerÆs daughter and her friends should have been located while on their way back to school. --- However, the young lady completely denied the ôalleged incidentö, and without proof, there was absolutely nothing he could do. To this day, I still maintain a desire to have a small tripod on my dashboard, with a video camera left rolling wherever I goà especially on long trips. Yepà [raising my glass] HereÆs to all of those mental midgets one day getting caught in the act, and being forced to answer for their vehicular transgressions.

Wow, bet that livened up your day
Hmmm, I think I understand the intent of the law but I wonder if it would hold up to a court challenge...free speech and all that. AFAIK speaking on public land is not against the law, as long as you aren't blocking traffic. And rapping on the window doesn't seem any different than knocking on somebody's front door. The occupant can choose not to answer, as this charming person did. The antenna thing begins to get into criminal activity, but very minor since you didn't break it.
I have done gotten out and talked to people, not out of anger, but to tell someone they have a nearly flat tire or other dangerous condition with their vehicle to which they seem oblivious. Take it from personal experience, it will hold up in court. Along with road rage they will add creating a public disturbance, leaving vehicle while in traffic, making terroristic threats (that eliminates the free speach) and since he bent the antennae destruction of property. And at that point they will do nothing to the other driver for their original actions. Now if at the stop light you had just written down the plate number and contacted the police then you're the good guy. In the whole scheme of things you would think they would look at the big picture, but as Jason found out they don't want to hear what you have to say and you're the one in handcuffs. Glad you got off because yes road rage is a felony.

Jason, it depends on the cop how much he wants to stretch it into a felony. From what I've seen, N.R.S. 484.3765 (aggressive driving statute) is only a misdemeanor. I just came across this for you to show other people in your FAVORITE ISUZU-BADGED VEHICLE (and, like Wayne said, even the Ascender): LINK FOR ROAD RAGE FLIP CARDS - MIGHT NOT BE WORK SAFE

Take it from personal experience, it will hold up in court. Along with road rage they will add creating a public disturbance, leaving vehicle while in traffic, making terroristic threats (that eliminates the free speach) and since he bent the antennae destruction of property. You are missing my point - I am not talking about getting prosecuted under the road rage law. Jason was obviously liable for that under those circumstances. I am talking about challenging the law itself as unconstitutional, something an organization like the ACLU might try. That is a very different and separate court action. And you are apparently assuming he made terroristic threats, because the "conversation" as related doesn't contain any threats from Jason. And FWIW as I read it, Jason didn't bend their antenna, he just "retracted" it for them...

Yeah... let's keep it factual. I didn't bend her antenna or damage her car in any way. I DID put away/stow her antenna...retracted it if you will. I'd be thrilled to know that I was responsible for a small (or large) stain on the drivers seat but given the gesture I recieved from the offender, I don't think the soiling of any seats happened.
Also, no threats were made. Threats may have been percieved by the officer...all he saw was my large-ish person screaming with my arms flailing. I've relayed my exact words here...and yet again in an email to the particular barracks the officer worked out of.
My email to the barracks consisted of thanking the Trooper for handling the situation the way he did despite my disliking of the cuffs and an open request for more police presence in the morning along that stretch of road. I did see another moto-cop there this morning. I only hope that was from my email.
