So I was checking the adjustment on my 12" wing, the one I just installed on my Jetta 1.8T and I was thinking how cool it would look if I mounted some more neon on it... ground effects kit ... lowering kit... 4" exhaust and Folgers[tm] muffler... I've got no problem with that, Mike, because I know it helps you park your Jetta 1.8T under your lifted, locked, full-width Isuzu Rodeo 4x4. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/butwiggle.gif" alt="" /> Randii

This is a true story....
Coming home from the weekly Home Depot run, I was following two kids in a silver BMW M3 down the road. Of course they are just cruising around, which is everyoneÆs past time here in California. The driver pulls over to the right, like theyÆre going to stop and of course, he makes a left turn in front of me. Now IÆm used to this type of behavior in my area, it happens all the time. Of course I want to make sure they donÆt do that again to unsuspecting drivers so I blare my horn at them. After the next stop sign these jokers are tailgating me and giving me the finger. So I pull onto the next road and of course they follow me and pass me yelling and giving me the bird.
I thought ok, no problem, just 2 punks that need to get it out of their system. Back over to the road I was on before. Next stop sign, theyÆre behind me again. Now IÆm thinking they went home and got something to teach me a lesson with, which is possible in my area. (I know which house they live in, I see the car parked at it all the time)
So I out run themà yep, just enough traffic in the area for them to learn how fast and maneuverable my Axiom really is. IÆm not joking here, I did break the speed limit in the area but that was about it. So I call the cops to report them and the cops say they canÆt do anything unless IÆm "being" chased. Waiting for a rematch, next time I think IÆll just use my tow hitch and save a couple gallons of gas.

Body Damage is Cool

Jason, please consider the following:
1. About 60% people on the roads are insane. It's just not possible to honk 60% of people around and to "teach them a lesson". You are outnumbered. The best you can do is try to escape them by smart manuevering and by abiving the laws (becouse about the same percentage of police officers are insane as well). Do not take chances. Stay calm, observe all laws and do your best to return home alive, without handcuffs and in one piece.
2. Even more important issue is that when you honk, yell, "show a bird", then you join the formerly mentioned 60% of road dwellers. You do not want to be among them, don't you ? The best you can do to is to ignore them. Imagine a guy who did everything to annoy you. And then you do not react. You show him that he/she is so miserable creature that you just have not noticed his/her efforts. This is the best what you can do.
3. If you are directly assaulted by a person, try to be as aggressive as possible. The more aggression you can deliver, the less harm you and your opponent will have. More aggression, less damage. But do not start any aggression yourself, wait for the person to start first.
I use this approach and I am OK.
BTW, I have had no tickets, no accidents, no "police talks" or else, I've never been beaten (on streets, not in sports) in 38 years of my life, whereever I have lived - in USA, in Russia, in Ukraine.
Regards, Oleg
