My father has an 88 V6 that he use in the woods, trucks, has sat for the last while. I went to start it the other day, it would run, but as soon as I gave it any gas its sputrs thens dies, unless I get right off the gas. I plan on head down this weekend to get it working right any ideas. Someone told me it might be the fule pump, not enough PSI, so to little gas and to much air. anyone help please

If it sat long enough without fuel in the tank, the tank could be full of rust and crap. This can do two things. One, the fuel filter could be clogged and needs to be replaced. Two, the fuel pump blew right through the clogged filter and now your injectors are clogged. Been there done that. Replace the fuel filter and see if that works. If not, you may be pulling the intake plenum to clean out the injectors. I have done this several times (don`t ask<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />) and it still takes me about five hours from start to finish.

I agree; take a fuel filter with you (see the maintenance article here before you go too; also read up on cleaning the t'body)
Take some PB Blaster with you for the fittings. Also take some fresh spark plugs with you, along with some oil and filter. Probably just a little cranky from sitting and not being turned over; varnished up a bit. Before he parks it next time, throw some Sta-bil in the tank (NAPA) per the instructions. My little old F100 fires right up after sitting all winter that way.
