Finally found time to get the engine.
It's from a Lexus GS300, 130.000 km and in excellent shape. The guy swapped a 2JZ-GTE and this were the leftovers.
The bad news is that it is incomplete and the injector plugs are cut-off and missing.
The good news is that I made a deal with the guy who found the engine for me and he has a 2JZ-GTE (manual) flywheel , complete 2JZ-GE wiringharness and a bellhouse for me. Plus all other parts that I need. He blew up the 2JZ-GTE engine in his supra last weekend and he is using another 2JZ-GE as a donor for parts. He only needs the shortblock and maybe the head and I can use the rest for parts.
Up to now it cost me my ARB locker plus compressor and I promised him a discount on my OEM 8" locker. And I have to do some gear setups for him.
Not too bad so far.
Did some quick measuring to compare the 7M to the 2JZ.
The 2JZ block engine is 4 cm longer than the 7M so I have to move the engine a bit further back for radiator clearance.
The 2JZ is a front sump and the 7M has a rear sump. I guestimate that this will be a benefit since my rear sumpo has a LARGE dent in it. Excatly the same shape as my front diff.
For the rest it seems pretty forward. The wiring looks simple also, only a few connections need to made to get it to run. That's what the supradoctor told me anyway.
Most likely it will take a few months to collect and prepare everything. I hope the 7M keeps running another few months so I can prepare the custom bellhouse, new engine brackets etc.
So it can be a while before there is any real progress. I'll try to make as many pics etc about all the things that fit and do not fit.
