Maybe. It depends on if one is offset (guessing the '78 is) and the other isn't. A tape measure would tell. The other factor may be the brakes. The five lug drums would also have to be used and they may be a different width or diameter than the brakes on the six lug axle. Might be the same, but it's something worth looking into.
