I'm posting for a friend:

1978 FJ-40 w/front disc brakes

Problem:

He took his vehicle to a mechanic to have the front disc brake rotors changed. The mechanic ordered the rotors, but the holes in the new rotors where the lug bolts stick through are larger than the lug bolt holes in the old rotors. IÆd say the new ones look like they are for ¢ö lug bolts, while the old ones are maybe around 3/8ö.

The mechanic said the previous owner must have coverted the FJÆs original disc brakes to those from a CJ-5. I donÆt see how this could be the case. Everyone who knows anything about 4x4s knows that Toys have a 6 on 5.5ö lug bolt pattern while older jeeps are 5 on 5.5ö.

Did certain model FJ-40s come with different size lug bolts? If so, which year had the front disc brake rotors with the lug holes drilled to accept the smaller lug bolts??
