Line D2 could indicate that there are 3.07:1 gears, so, is the rear just a heavier case with the same gear set? Answered your own question. Yes, the rear axle is a heavier (debatable with the D35) everything with the same gear ratio (should be anyhow).

During the process of re-gearing to 3.73's (did the rear first) I decided I wanted to see how bad the whole system would sieze with different ratio's. I went to a parking lot with old crumbly asfalt and threw it in 4wd. I went from 5 to 0 like someone hit the brakes. If you have different ratio's, you'd know about it the first time you tried it in 4wd.
