I have used both Sunpro and Autometer in my hotrod and Toyota. The Sunpro works just fine. The reason I went Autometer was for a shiftlight, which for the hotrod is a must have. In the Toyota it would be cool to have too, but I think the good old lightless tach is fine. I do, however, prefer a larger face. My Toyota has a 2 5/8s right now, which is barely big enough I think. I have a 5" monster mounted to the pillar of my Nova - very visible!

The Toyota's is mounted to the dash. Yes I drilled holes in a perfectly good dash - and I'll never look back; it's the best damn place for a tach and if I didn't care so much about the original dash in my Nova, I would have put it there on it too. Here are some pics:
