That's the best way to do it!

I had to take my manifold off and I had Racer4 put it in a big vice and he used a big pipe wrench to get it out. Once it's out, getting the new one in is easy. I think it's a good idea that you at least replace the gasket that goes from the manifold to the pipe, I also replaced the manifold to head gasket but if it is in good shape, it can be re-used.
