similar thread, in Hollywood, the cops are always shooting at the car to stop it, how could this possibly work? I was trying to figure this out one day and the only way a single bullet could stop a car immediately was if it were to hit the distributor. (So,in my getaway car I will have to design a bullet proof dissy cover.) The holes in the radiator will stop it eventually but not immediately.
Back to the subject at hand, the potato in the tailpipe was disproved by Mythbusters, if you believe them, but once again back to this thread, is the fuel pump wire accessable to the average Joe without a manual? The hood release is pretty accessable but does not get you into the passenger compartment. A fire extinguisher might starve enough O2 to stall the truck if aimed at the intake, probably real good for the engine. ugh. I have to figure there is enough of an emergency that you may need to actually use the vehicle after. The vent window is the cheapest and possibly least messy one to break. (done it in a bug) The vehicle is still useable even in winter, and although replacement is a pain the thought of idling for 4 hours brings me to think about the condition of the oil pump and what if low rpms causes oil starvation, premature wear on bearings. The need here would be to solve the problem, not create new ones.
