I can open my GEN I with its own radio antenna that is why it is hand tight. I also carry an extra key hidden somewhere underneath the bumber inside a magnetic box, it work great, the magnet is so strong that it has not fall not even when off-roading.

I have a spare key in my wallet at all times. Also did you try the back door? I often times find people forget to lock that. Got a good view of a montero for sale once because the guy forgot to lock the back gate.

Me too. Key under truck and radio ant loose.

similar thread, in Hollywood, the cops are always shooting at the car to stop it, how could this possibly work? I was trying to figure this out one day and the only way a single bullet could stop a car immediately was if it were to hit the distributor. (So,in my getaway car I will have to design a bullet proof dissy cover.) The holes in the radiator will stop it eventually but not immediately.
Back to the subject at hand, the potato in the tailpipe was disproved by Mythbusters, if you believe them, but once again back to this thread, is the fuel pump wire accessable to the average Joe without a manual? The hood release is pretty accessable but does not get you into the passenger compartment. A fire extinguisher might starve enough O2 to stall the truck if aimed at the intake, probably real good for the engine. ugh. I have to figure there is enough of an emergency that you may need to actually use the vehicle after. The vent window is the cheapest and possibly least messy one to break. (done it in a bug) The vehicle is still useable even in winter, and although replacement is a pain the thought of idling for 4 hours brings me to think about the condition of the oil pump and what if low rpms causes oil starvation, premature wear on bearings. The need here would be to solve the problem, not create new ones.

I'd still shoot for the coil wire if you could get at it. Again, tough but you could keep a wire in your frame or bumper pretty easy. I was trying it with a bit of the wire they use to tie up chain-link fence. Looks very possible. You need a good length of it and again, a good light but it looks doable. Not sure if this would damage the vehicle or not.

Stopping a car with a firearm:

Pistol:
Occupants (depending on situation)
Tires
Radiator (hot day in LA, speeding car - it won't stop instantly but it'll stop quick).

Rifle:
Occupants (again, depends on the situation)
Engine block or transmission (once the fluid is gone an auto will obviously not be movable)
Radiator

Pistol assumes a patrolman in an 'oh #@$' situation. Rifle assumes a marksman with at least some time to make a shot. LE and Military will have different views on the subject...

The wires powering my electric fuel pump and several rubber fuel lines on my rig are easily accessible. It wouldn't be an issue for me if I found myself in that situation...and I'm an average Joe.

Now, granted, that's how I can stop my engine. Individual results may vary.

I'm curious about what type of NEGATIVE reactions could/would be caused by stalling the engine by blocking the exhaust. I always wondered what could/would happen. I stall our nitro R/C truck by that method, and it doesn't SEEM to have hurt them...but I guess there's a tad bit of difference between those pint size oil burners and my V6 smile

I keep a coathanger in that "pipe" crossmember in the front. I think it would be very easy for an average joe who knew a little about cars to find the fuel pump wires. Warning: do not grab the end of the coil wire. I was holding the rubber boot part of my bros and he turned the key and I got a pretty hard shock for a few seconds. It hurt while you were holding it, but was funny when it stopped. If you get the hood open, you could disconnect the battery too. I put marine terminals on mine, no tools required. You could also unplug wire harness.
