The tailgate harness is a weak point. Mine had broken wires. The PO had 'fixed' them with crimp lugs, which filled up with moisture, turned to cupric sulfate, and disintegrated. Simple fix with solder, shrink tube, fresh wire, and tape, but tedious to track down.
