Guess I should read closer, huh!

I know that originally, they were out of the factory stock on the front of the Gen I 2.6, so only thing available was limited supply on the Gen I V6 and the Gen II 3.0 V6 w/ auto.

After reading and re-reading the parts of this thread that deal with swapping a 89-91 8 inch front diff into a 2.6 SWB rig in order to install an ARB RD110 locker, it seems implied that the SWB would be manual transmission.

Is there any reason a front locker can't be installed in a automatic?

Has anyone actually put an ARB RD110 front locker into an automatic transmission GEN1 3.0 8 inch front diff?

I thought Llyod had a Detroit front?

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

Yeah, I was pretty sure it was a Detroit, too.

Excellent, thanks for the confirmation Justice. I see lots of $$$$ going out in the near future.

The boys at ARB are . I sent a message telling them they should update their application guide. There must be a lot of Gen1 V6s out there that don't think an ARB will work in the front. I'll post again if I get a reply.

I'm pretty sure it was discussed numerous times here in the past that the ARB RD110 will fit in a Gen I V6 front end and that the application guide from ARB is referencing OZ models and not US models. I've got one in the front of my 88 2.6, but I got the diff from a V6 M/T rig.

The GenI 8" V6 front diff is a bolt in for the I4 front diff. Don't know about the air locker but the Starion LSD fits.

I can attest to the fact that the Gen I V6 front diff (and CV axles) with the ARB RD110 bolts into the I4 front end.

I have one.
