Yeah, the index pin is in. The tensioner is sprung somehow. It's like it is coming apart. The back of the tensioner is flush with the bracket is bolts to.
I already tried the car-parts.com route and found out they don't index it. I sent them an e-mail to ask about it.
There is another site that send you quotes on parts and they index it, but all I've ever gotten from them is spam when they sold my e-mail address.
I'm hoping to get away and walk the chevy pick lot sometime tommorrow, I'll let you know what I find.

I just checked RockAuto and they list four different ones, not a single one over $20. Use this code "202206199401" and get an additional 5% off. I don't work for them, I have ordered stuff from them, some of the cheapest stuff I have found.

I went to the yard today. Must be a popular item, they were all gone. So I ordered from RockAuto. I did find out that I need the whole assembly so it was higher than $20 but even with shipping it was half of the dealers price. The engine is going in this weekend so I'll run it with the old tensioner God willing.
Thanks for the help.

Ok the tensioner came in today but the pulley is wrong. I e-mailed rockauto with pictures asking if they could provide the right pulley. Here is my question: If they say run this pulley, would you run this pulley? It dosen't have flanges to guide the belt like the original. ![[Linked Image]](http://img52.echo.cx/img52/6991/drop0036ek.jpg)

I doubt the flanges are important. Your water pump pulley is the same way. The belt is going to stay put due to the grooved surface of the other accessories, the tensioner pushes on the smooth side anyway.

Yup -- I'd run that without a second thought. If the width of the pulley belt face is as wide or wider than the between-lip measure of the stock pulley, and the diameter is close*, run it.
*You've got a lot of space to give on the diameter -- as long as the tensioner is within its range (generally marked somewhere), you're good. Whenever you replace the tensioner, you should evaluate the existing belt for replacement, as well, and look at belt length to see if a longer or shorter belt would work.
Run it!
