I bought a used 99 Taco extra cab. I see the cup holder in the back behind the pass seat that flips up but what about for the front? I have the 2 holes in front of the console but they do not hold drinks well at all. I talked to toyota and they faxed me a picture that looks like i have to replace part of the console? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> Anyone out there have a 99 tacoma ex cab with this setup? Please let me know. I was hoping there was some kind of insert for the larger holes to make them fit regular drinks?? Thanks Curt

Do you have bucket seats or 60/40 bench? If you have the buckets then you have the two cupholders behind the shifters and in front of the center console. If you have the 60/40 bench then you have the cup holders on the passenger side of the shifters (it looks like one just pull toward the rear of the truck and it magically expands into two[I don't know how toyota does it]).

Yea I have buckets and the holders behind the shifters are too large and shallow to hold anything. What gives? Toyota sent me a fax showing what you describe as the bench holder and they are calling it an option although it looks like it will put the drinks under the ashtray area but really far fwd is that what you are referring to? Thanks

Yeah they are pretty far foward and useless depending on the size of drink you are trying to put in there. Those are the ones that I have and anything over a 20 ounce cup doesn't fit. I say screw toyota and custom make your own cup holders!!!(A roll of duct tape works pretty good)

I can work with that if it is my only option. Was just hoping for an easier solution that looks like it belongs. A small bungee to keep the drink from falling forward when stopping might work too..Thanks again,Curt
