You are supposed to remove the tranny due to limited engine bay space/length.

When I pulled mine I left the tranny hanging on the crossmember but others have used ratchet straps to suspend it in the tunnel.

With the tranny suspended and the axles disconected then the truck can be pushed/pulled wherever you need it.
