Body Damage is Cool

Little more info might be helpful
Starting with model, year, which side/complete rear, how often, how loud. Being less vague will get you more responses.

Yeah, I have that problem sometimes... Wrap a little ducktape around the U shaped latch, wrap it 3 or 4 times... I usually have to replace the tape every 6 months or so... I know this is just a temp fix, but it works for me <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" /> ![[Linked Image]](http://img232.echo.cx/img232/8697/cimg00075vr.jpg)

A thin coat of the thick lithium grease (peanut-butter consistancy) might help, too.

I have been having the same problem with my back window in my 99 Rodeo as well. Thanks for the great tip about the duct tape. Im gonna try it.

Like Wayne said, the White Lithium grease solves this problem too. I had the same issue a few years ago and sprayed it twice. The first squirt lasted about 6 months and the second spray has lasted me about 3 years and still no squeak. I'd be afraid duct tape would fray at some point and bind up the window keeping it shut or gumming up the lock and not locking shut at all....
Since both approaches work, it's your choice.

The latch inside of the rear is plastic. What's happening is the plastic is wearing over time and allowing it to move just enough to sqeek and rattle. That kind of stuff drives me nuts as well. I used electrical tape with the same results. Athough I need to replace it as it's starting to rattle again.
