I got an f250 with a full float 60. Because the shafts are not designed to carry weight, they are smaller and have less splines than the semi-float model. Also, most come with huge heavy drums that are no fun to mess around with. The full float isnÆt worth it, since the jeep will not be seeing the weights required for a full float. It will be seeing LOTS of tourq, so the added splines and shaft diameter are nice.

The d44 is about 1/2" lower than the stock d35. Sunray Engineering has some pics of a shaved Ford 9" with clearance comparisons for a few axles. I'd guess the 8.8 is about the same as a d44 based on ring size, but i've never compared one to another. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
