One of the members had a write up in the 4ruuner section on how to remove the clutch pedal bracket from a Toyota 4runner, I just don't know what happened to this article. If you ever had few rounds with the clutch return spring you would realize you need all the help you can get.

thanks for the reply and the hint. What I remmber is tha the article was in the tech section with picture of how to get asembly off step by step. It almost killed me to get clutch return spring back on while the bracket was in place. There are two flat head bolts hold the bracket to the firewall and from the engine side it is the clutch booter asembly which I decided not to mess with, I can not figure out how to undo these two bolts, short of a cuting torch. thanks

I pull the bottom trim panel off, so I can see where to hook it back on a little better. Nuther reason to have buckets; unbolt 'em and get 'em outta the way.

I just did mine over the weekend. Here's the link I think you're looking for:

http://www.4runners.org/articles/clutchbush/

It's pretty good, but a few things he left out: There are two other plastic bushings in the clutch pedal assy:

Part #'s 90386-05018 & 90386-13007

The first one is the little white bushings on the sides of the spring. The other part is for plastic bushings in the pivot shaft of the clutch pedal. All the plastic parts on mine were very worn (80K) 1999 SR5 5spd, and by replacing them all, and the clutch a week ago, it now feels like a brand new assembly. If you go to the dealer, they will print out an exploded schematic for you of where everything goes.

Anything else, lemme know.

Good luck. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
