My rear axle is right at 61.5(isuzu 12 bolt) and I have a widetrack 44 (right at 63.5) out of a '74 jeep J-10 in the front, so they did come in jeeps, but I'm not sure of how available they were....... hope that helps <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

It's the truth, I don't know much about the J-10 and the different versions available but I had heard that there was a widetrack in some models so I looked and called around to every yard in NC and eastern TN until I found one. I finally found one at a place called MARSH AUTO in Siler City, NC. I got my axle about the middle of November 04 and when I picked out mine they had about 4 more there. They pulled it for me, acid washed it and even guarenteed it for $175. Very nice ppl and they have a jeep graveyard there so they might have a good one left. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

The J-trucks are a bit different. To my knowledge, there is only one size available for them and its wider than the Waggy axles (maybe call this widetrack). IIRC, i've measured a J20 and it was like 64-65" in the front, but that was a while ago.

Again, IMHO, it was only the FSJ Cherokee that had different axle width choices.

(sorry, not tryin to jack your thread) but, yeah I know Aaron, hes pretty much my go to guy if I cant figure it out on my own and I use to see you rollin 'round up here before you moved. I couldnt make the big U trip last weeknd, but I'm hopin that they'll plan a summer trip and then there's the fall one so I hope to get a chance to wheel with you and the rest of the guys on here, it'll be refreshing to see someone else pretty local who has the nerve to make a hard core wheeler out of a suzy.......... not many up here have the patience to deal with em, mostly just chopped yotas and jeeps... wagoneers/grand wagoneers only came in narrow track ~61" front

big cherokees came in narrow rack, same as wagoneers ~61" and wide track on 2 door models only (primarily Cherokee Chief models) ~64"

the J10 pickups were all "wide track" with the same ~64" front axle.

There was also the J20 pickups (3/4 ton) with 8 lug wheels, but I can't seem to find an agreeable width for those, it seems to be between about ~64 and 67 inches WMS to WMS

I have a question about the FSJ wide 44, what are distances from pinion to WMS? I have a full size chev axle, I really don't want to leave it full width, but the wide Jeep axle sounds pretty good. I would like to cut the chev axle to the Jeep width, so I don't have to buy custom axles.
