good lord my cv's don't look anything that extreme. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> How much crank do you hav ein the front end. just curious

I had approx 3 - 3.5" of crank.. However like said above (which turned out to be very true may I add <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />) my boots were all cramped together and made things seem alot worse than they actually were.. I have since lowered the front end by .5" and lowered my differential the same... Everything looks and functions awesome!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> My CV angle are the same as or maybe even less than that of Bansil's. Could you post pics of the diff drop you did and the new angles? How hard was it and what did you use? There's another person on this board with a 3" lift on his Passport and his boots where tearing a lot until he put in manual hubs. Mine is a 2002, so putting manuals in is not really a viable option for me right now. I am looking at installing a 3" lift in the very near future and want to avoid this problem if I can <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />. Calmini even recommends on thier site using manual hubs if using a 3" lift.

I will post the new angles as soon as I can. The diff drop I did was very simple, but I only lowered it just over 1/2 an inch (made a significant difference though <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />). All I did to lower it was cut some 1/2in. spacers out of some steel, spray paint them to prevent rust, unbolt one side of the diff from the frame, lower it bout 3/4in., place the spacers between the frame and the diff and bolt back up with longer grade 8 bolts. Repeat for the other side. Works well for me... No problems as of yet <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

No mine does not have manual hubs yet,it will after I hit a J/Y for a few small pcs.I still have 500+ miles on the warranty so I have to wait another week or two <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />....lift was no problem with dealer........I just couldn't "modify"the front hubs <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />.....

So yours is lifted 4" in the front (this is the Rodeo I saw at the campsite that was parked - right?) - for how long? And you measured the rear of my Sport for some reason - what was that for?

I measured the back of yours to get an idea of how much lift the 929 gave me.Since then I've been able to measure
two other rodeo's.I got about 3 1/2+" inthe back and cranked
the front 4" so it sits more level.I will probable go 2" more with spacers by summer,and then only crank the front 1"
more so It has some more rake,and the caster will be better.
It has been lifted 2 months or 3 ,something like that.

do you have some pics? I'd like to do something like that when I left my 84 pup(cv's are already pretty steep) and I'd rather not buy the whole kit because it seems to me a lot of these thigns can be done with some spare metal and a plan. did you just use square pieces of metal, or did you shape them? or how did you do it?:P thanks!
