Why not use any small size LED flashlight having a universal design to accommodate many uses, and use the clip provided on the flashlight to hang the flashlight from the existing gear loft? Wouldn't that be a lot easier?

There already exists a tent light that allows the light to be hung/placed anywhere on the tent using a magnet and metal plate, not a bad idea if you have your tent fly in place.

I have a little pelican flash light. It works great when i clip it onto my zipper so no fumbling. Or i keep the headlamp next to my pack pillow. I go with some insane backpacking people that will cut down on their spoon and fork to save weight.

Personally I think most of the handle cutting (cutting handle of toothbrush and spoon to save weight) crowd goes tentless or with a bivvy bag anyway.

Besides...should I change the power source to a couple flat watch batteries, how much can 6-12 LED's, a few feet if small guage wire and a little plastic weigh? My current setup comes in at just under 8oz WITH the AAA batteries. I think I can fit that in my car/truck/trailer

Oh i know it. I dont like those ppl. I go with a few of em. But ill carry the extra 4-8 pounds and be comfy. The tent lighting idea sounds good. I might have to rig something like that up for my tent at the camp im gonna work.

Jason, your idea is cool. Seems like a lot of work for a tent light though. We carry a LED one that can hang in your tent with the lanyard. It will last 120 hours and is actually super bright for it's size.
Just thought it might fit this thread.

Coleman makes a magnetic light that works great. Just put the metal piece on the outside and you can clamp the light in place. Kind of heavy to backpack with but I love to take it camping.

I'm surprised your attorney advised you to delete this post after the word got out. The best evidence you could have that you had the idea first is to have some mention of it on a public forum such as this.

But anyways - best of luck
