Roll Me Over
I've got the cage designed pretty well pictured in my head... it will stay a four seater... really no reason to go 2 seat with this wheelbase and all my friends are running 2 seaters so someone needs to be able to carry the passengers. There will be a "C" hoop behind the rear two seats. From this point, things will slant back to the height of the rear body and then bend and shoot down vertically. The front bars, "A" pillar, will shoot down through the dash (since i've got it all removed now). I plan on mounting my seats to the cage, and there will be 5 point harnesses as well. I will be running diagonal bars down beside the front seats to offer some more protection when running front-doorless. the rear tailgate will stay off, and in its place there will be a "basket" formed out of tube.

I think thats about the jist of it. trust me, it works out well in my head, and hopefully after this weekend, i'll be able to show you some picts.

-Rob

EDIT: the tube size will most likely be 1 3/4" -2" depending on what my buddy's got around his shop. DOM of course.

You could call Can-back and get them to custom tailor you a top. Those can-back tops are pretty tough, and look great too.
Project looks great. Good luck getting everything done!

Wow Rob

I've been resisting the urge to put an Amigo soft top on my truck, but man, that's some serious cutting . Are you getting new seats for the front and rear?

Can't wait to see more

Wow When I first saw that picture, I said hey thats a pretty cool pickup. But shouldn't you be getting your rodeo ready for Moab? Wait-a-minute! I showed Dan too and told him look at this cool isuzu pickup, he did the same thing

Should look pretty mean with a full cage in there though

Roll Me Over
Jordan, custom soft tops are pretty expensive. I'm sure i can't justify having someone make me one. However, I think Jessica is going to take a stab at sewing together a bikini top for it.

Andre, new seats for the front are on their way. I'm going with the PRP Premier Hi-backs. For now, the factory rear bench will be removed and i prolly won't have a back seat for Moab. Eventually, I'd like to added either two more bucket seats back there, or a new bench.

Mark, cutting the top is something i've been thinking about for a while. two reasons, first, reduce the amount of body there is to damage. I've already taken some good hits back there and its just a matter of time before i flop it. Second, safety, I've had some harry encounters the could have turned out pretty bad, so rollcage has been a priority. not having to deal with the top makes rollcage construction so much easier.

Mike, thanks for the compliments. Just wait, soon enough it won't resemble a pickup truck anymore.

Chris, we actually finished the siding on the hut last night. We're using weather resistant composite 4x8 panels that look like cedar planks. its that mixture of concrete dust kinda like Hardi-plank. Thought about viynl siding, but per square foot, this stuff was way cheaper and quicker to install. The roof material is Ondura

Daniel, thanks bro. you know you're welcome to a ride anytime, but not too much longer cause you have to get your junk rolling. thanks for the birthday wishes... big 26 today and i'll be spending it at the shop this afternoon.
