So full throttle against the brakes (dont use low range) your motor only flashes to 800 rpm?

Not sure what you mean?
But at 800rpm my torque converter will "lock up" (whether in 2wd, 2lo, 4hi, or 4lo), and it will allow me to "creep" over stuff while idling basically.
But it will make it more difficult to stop. I'll need to keep the idle below 800rpms, or it won't stop!

Two MRI's and a CAT scan....it's confirmed. I'm just not right in the head.

Stall speed is defined as the RPM the engine hits at full throttle while the output shaft from the transmission is not turning.

So to check it.... Hold the vehicle against the brakes and floor it while waching the tach, that will be your stall speed.

We still dont have any that have been converted from the 3.0. No I do not volunteer to be the first.

If I had the V6 instead of the 2.6 that swallowed 2 valves, I probably would not have made the swap.

[quote]Scottie,

No problem.
That 1994 4.3 vortec I'm using will be in and out of the shop for the rest of it's career.{quote}

My tow vehicle was a 94 S10 SWB with the 4.3 V6. I towed the Raider on a trailer and also had a slide-in camper (9300 lbs gcvw). I gave the S10 to my Grandson when the truck had 235,000 miles on it with NO repairs to the engine,drive train, or steering linkage. I did replace some ball joints and rotors.

My 4 runner has a 4.3 chevy, but it will be taken out and put in another 4 runner. Then I will get my own 4.3 and put in it. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> Not a mitsu, but Asian though, well the frame and body are. Rest is GM.

Close enough counts. You are in the Club. My Raizer has a Toy rear.

Don't try that with your 4.3. My rear tires will slide my locked up front tires with the breakes on.
