Getting the Wheeling Fever
Well....found out truck is only running on 1 cylinder. I pulled the spark wires one at a time and the #4 was the only one to make a difference. I pulled 1-3....left 4 on and the truck ran the same as mentioned above. Going to get a compression tester from a friend tomorrow just to be sure I have good compression. Hopefully 3 of my 4 injectors aren't screwed up. Anyone else ever have any issues like this?

Dead on 3 out of 4? That is not good...when I was running on 3 of 4 it was bad enough. If you sent the injectors out and they were tested as good....time to go back into the wiring and make sure your repairs didnt come apart. Another thing you can do is try the #4 injector on #s 1,2,3 and see if they fire that way. Then you will know for sure if its your injectors or wiring. When operating they make a very distinctive click when listened to with a mechanics stethascope. If they are not firing there will only be a dull sound as the other injectors (injector in your case) fire. PIA I know...but the problem has got to be right there under your nose...which are the hardest to figure out btw. Get back to us with your compression numbers. And if you dont have a stethascope...get one. They run about $4.

You could also try swapping injector connectors, saw #4 to #3 and see if #3 fires now. Each pair of injectors fires together, so if one of the pair fires, both should unless there is something wrong in the wiring to the dead injector.

The injectors should fire all at once. When one pair are grounded by the ECU the other pair is grounded as well since the grounds all come together before they split to the injectors. I re-checked all of the injector wiring and am there is nothing wrong with it. What should be the voltage going to the injector plugs. Turned ign. to on position and checked voltage at the end of each injector power wire and batt ground. Got readings of 12.4v. Is that where it should be? Gonna try throwing in my new set of injectors right now. Hopefully that will solve the problem. Thank you for the replies.

Next stop: butt connectors in the injector harness.

With the ignition on, you should see battery voltage (12.4 or whatever) at all points of the injector wiring as long as the injector is not on. You'll have 12.4V at the ballast resistor input, same at the output, same at both sides of the injector connector. With no current flowing, all points should be at 12.4 volts. It is only when the ECU grounds one side of the injector that you'll get current flowing and voltage drops.

After everything....it turned out to be that 3 of the 4 injectors were not firing (Cruzin Performance will be getting a call from me tomorrow). I replaced the injectors with a set I got from LC engineering and the motor fired up almost instantly. Timing is perfect at 5 deg. BTDC and the idle sits at 700rpm. Getting a little noise from the rockers so I'll have to tighten them up a tad...think I might have set them a little too loose. It runs amazingly smooth, and I couldn't be happier (unless of course someone would like to donate a SAS kit to me <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />). I just want to thank you all for helping me to set this up and get it up and running. Couldn't have done it without this board. I'll keep ya'll updated on how it drives as it breaks in.

Wow, that's amazing; good for you! Please, make sure you post back with what Cruzin' Performance has to say about it. We point a lot of folks that direction.

Just found a Washington state business, www.witchhunter.com

Any of you west coasters know these folks?

Well...after the break in procedure I took it out for a test drive and it ran craptacular! Was good for about 15 seconds then the idle dipped down and it started running a little rough. Engine light came on once or twice for about 2-3 seconds and then went out. Once I got it back to the house it starting making small popping noises/small backfires? Checked codes and got a 5 and 11. Having a "rigged" exhaust probably has something to do with it. Its leaking quite a bit after the header and before the O2 sensor. I readjusted the TPS and the idle got a little better. Checked for vaccuum leaks and there didn't seem to be any. Guess I have to finish off my exhaust and gonna drop in a new O2. Any other ideas?
