Whats your exaust smell like? Does it smell like Sulfur?

Well, if so, you are probably running VERY RICH. So much un-used fuel is being caught up in your cat that the heat from you exaust gas is heating it up.

Check plugs, wires, cap, rotor all the usualls. and your O2 SENSOR, that will cause a very rich or lean mixture. and if it wasnt bad before, im willing to bet that it is now...

Pull your O2 sensor, check it, if bad, buy a new one and replace it, pull your ECU fuse, see if your check engine light goes away. If it did, it was probably your O2 sensor...

Check your ECU also for any trouble codes, and report with them back here.
You can also have your codes checked at kragen, autozone ect...
