The thing on the side seems to be a trailer jack..The thing that goes on the tongue/front of the trailer..Why would you need one on the side?

Yep, that's what it looks like to me... although upside down.

Why would you need one? Hmmm... lateral stability? [Linked Image] [Linked Image]

That's what it is. It's the same kind that is on my boat. It's not upside down though, the attcahment point rotates 360*. Still doesn't explain why it is on there.

Its says right on the website Db drag vehicle That is actually what I assumed it was when I first saw it.

Basically, the goal is to use subwoofers to get the vehicle as 'loud' as possible on the inside. There is much more to this than cramming in as many speakers/amps/batteries as possible. Interior layout, box size and shape, port(s) size and shape and distance from various parts of the vehicle, etc etc etc etc are all major factors. I have seen people trim 1/4" off their port length between rounds and gain .3db. These aren't your local "honda with 2 12's in a prefab bandpass box" types... these people devote everything they have to the sport and the level of design involved is astounding

I wouldn't call it a radio, most of the time these guys can't even produce full range music. I know of several vehicles that only had subwoofers in them, so there was no "Music" to it.

Hats off to them with the initiative to use a well built vehicle to mod. Either that or they got it for $50
